Africa has abundant renewable resources yet 600 million people lack electricity. Join us to mobilize investments to triple renewable energy capacity by 2030 and ensure affordable energy access for all.
Without reliable electricity, opportunities for education, healthcare, and entrepreneurship are limited. Expanding renewable energy access will power communities, while safeguarding our planet’s future.
Africa holds 60% of the world’s best solar resources, plus abundant wind, geothermal, and hydropower, but attracts only 2% of global renewable energy investment. We need to scale up renewable energy projects across the continent to bridge the energy divide.
The majority of people living in extreme poverty are in sub-Saharan Africa. Governments, the private sector, and financial institutions must commit to bold investments and policies to accelerate Africa’s clean energy transition and lift millions out of poverty.
