2024 Global Citizen Prize: Cisco Youth Leadership Award Terms & Conditions

1. The Promoter is Global Poverty Project, Inc d/b/a Global Citizen of 740 Broadway, Suite 400, NY NY 10003, United States of America (“Promoter”).
2. By entering the 2024 Global Citizen Prize: Cisco Youth Leadership Award (the “Competition”), entrants accept these Terms & Conditions of entry.
3.    Entry to this Competition is open to entrants aged eighteen (18) years of age to entrants aged thirty (30) by December 31, 2023 that operate or work for an existing organization (“Entrant”). Entrants may be from anywhere in the world except this Competition is void where prohibited, and excludes employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and its sponsors and their collective related companies; any individuals or organizations who have previously received prize funding or direct grant funding from Cisco Systems, Inc., any of its companies companies or the Cisco Foundation (“Cisco”); and individuals or organizations from any country or entity subject to financial or other sanctions by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) or other government entity of the United States of America that may restrict the transfer of the Prize (defined below).To enter the Competition, entrants must follow the instructions at https://www.globalcitizen.org/prize/youth-leadership/. Entries must be submitted between  9:00AM PT on November 2nd, 2023 and 5:00PM PT on December 15th, 2023.  Entrants will be selected based on individual merit and organizational strength in advancing one or more of the United Nation Global Goals for Sustainable Development (“Global Goals”), based on the following five (5) criteria:

a. Impact: Demonstrated track-record of measurable impact at scale over the last 3-5 years advancing one or more of the Global Goals.
b. Vision: Compelling vision and concrete plans for how to extend this work in the next 3-5 years, including how the prize will advance efforts.
c. Catalyst: Inspires other young people to have an impact on achieving one or more of the Global Goals.
d. Global Citizenship: Demonstrates the values and embodies the spirit of a global citizen and a global problem solver.
e. Technological Innovation: Innovates with technology or Internet-based communications at the center of their entry to improve efficiency, reach, and magnify impact.

4.        Up to five (5) prize finalists may be selected by Promoter (each, a “Prize Finalist”; collectively, the “Prize Finalists”), with one (1) individual being selected as the prize winner for the Competition (the “Prize Winner”) consisting of a cash prize in the amount of two hundred fifty thousand United States dollars (USD$250,000) (the “Prize”). The Prize Winner will be selected by the Promoter in Promoter’s sole discretion based on the criteria set forth in section 4 herein, with consideration of the opinions of external judges (selected by Promoter in Promoter’s sole discretion). The Prize will be awarded to the organization of the Prize Winner.
5.      To be eligible to win a Prize, the Prize Finalists:

a. if applicable, be available at a mutually agreed upon date and time in 2024 for Promoter’s film crews to film packages at the Prize Finalist’s headquarters and/or principal place of business of the organization of which they applied, if requested by Promoter ;
b. if applicable, be available for filming purposes at a mutually agreed upon time and place in 2024 to be featured in a presentation or event promoted by Promoter; hold a valid passport and be solely responsible for obtaining any requisite visas required in the event travel is required and permitted. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, if travel is permitted, you must maintain and follow all suggested and/or required procedures by local authorities, World Health Organization, and the Center for Disease Control (our local equivalent) to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19 including, without limitation, social distancing, masks, etc.;
c. agree to accept and distribute the Prize funds to the organization on behalf of which they applied;
d. agree to provide quarterly written updates to Promoter on their use of the Prize for a period of three (3) years and;
e. agree to media interviews and appearances for a period of three (3) years, and grant rights to the Promoter and Cisco to use the name, likeness and related content in the Promoter or Cisco marketing campaigns and on the Promoter or Cisco-owned platforms.

6.     In addition to the Prize, Promoter may pay the following for the Prize Finalists (if travel is required):

a. return economy airfares to a 2024 Global Citizen event and/or to locations for purposes of filming the broadcast of the 2024 Global Citizen event, with the flight originating from the Prize Finalist’s nearest capital city; if applicable, hotel accommodation for the attendance of a 2024 Global Citizen event or for purposes of filming the broadcast for a 2024 Global Citizen event; 
b. If applicable, a per diem of One Hundred United States dollars (USD$100) per day for approximately two (2) days;  
c. ground transportation to and from event(s) hosted by Promoter, where the attendance of the Prize Finalists is requested; 
d. If applicable, visa processing fees for the Prize Finalists not exceeding Five Hundred United States dollars (USD$500) in total to be reimbursed to the Prize Finalist following Promoter’s receipt of an invoice detailing said fees.

The approximate aggregate value of the expenses outlined in section 7 above is Three Thousand Two Hundred United States dollars (USD$3,200) provided, however, that said value may change depending on, inter alia, Prize Winner’s location, point of departure, and time of travel.

7.    If travel is permitted, Promoter will not be liable for any expenses other than expressly outlined above, including, without limitation, costs for passports, insurance, transport to and from departure point, additional transfers, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs at Promotor’s sole discretion if travel is required. Furthermore, Promoter shall not be liable, and the Prize Winner hereby releases Promoter from any liability for each said party’s inability to obtain the requisite entry documents to travel to the Competition or filming location. The Finalist must depart from and return to the same departure point. Itineraries are to be determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion. For the avoidance of doubt, Promoter shall adhere to all suggested and/or required procedures by local authorities, World Health Organization, and the Center for Disease Control (our local authorities) if Prize Finalist is requested to travel by Promoter. 
8.      The Prize Finalists will be notified of their status on or around February 2nd 2024.  The Prize Winner will be selected at 740 Broadway, Suite 400, NY NY 10003 on or around February 2nd 2024. The Prize Winner will remain confidential and announced at a time and place in Promoter’s absolute discretion. 
9.    This Competition is a game of skill and as such, the winner is selected based on the creativity and qualifications of entries submitted.
10.    The Prize Winner is advised that tax implications may arise from their prize winning and may wish to seek independent financial advice prior to the acceptance of the Prize.
11.    Each Entrant grants Promoter the right to use said Entrant’s name, city, and other information as contained in the entry application for publicity and Competition purposes and to generally promote the charitable endeavors and mission of Promoter, without compensation.
12.    The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
13.    As a condition of accepting the Prize, the Prize Winner must sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by the Promoter, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.
14.     Each Entrant's personal information ("PI") is collected to enable the Promoter to administer and promote this Competition and the Prize Winner. The PI of each Entrant may be provided to third parties who are assisting the Promoter, including prize suppliers, deliverers and authorities that regulate competitions. Entrants who fail to provide all requested PI, may be determined by the Promoter, at its sole discretion, to be ineligible to win a prize. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with this promotion is further governed by the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.
15.     The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, corruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer networks and systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination of them, including any injury or damage to any entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Competition.
16.     The Competition will be governed by the laws of the State of New York.
17.     The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardize the fair and proper conduct of the Competition. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
18.     If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or Competition, or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition.
19.    Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel or postpone the Competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions herein at a later date for occurence of any of the following: technical failure in operating the Competition; fire; threat(s) or act(s) of terrorism; riot(s) or other form(s) of civil disorder in, around, or near the Competition location or venue; strike, lockout, or other forms of labor difficulties; any act, order, rule, or regulation of any court, government agency, or public authority; act of God; failure of technical facilities not caused by Promoter’s acts or omissions; adverse weather conditions; and/or any similar or dissimilar cause beyond Promoter's reasonable control.
