What is Global Citizen NOW?

In its consecutive fourth year,  Global Citizen NOW will convene world leaders, artists, cultural innovators, and advocates to explore the question: What does it mean to truly invest in the next generation? Together, participants will examine how we create immediate and critical impact for the generations to come through education and sustainability.

Global Citizen NOW 2025’s mainstage programming will dive into what’s working and what isn’t, and identify the urgent action that needs to be taken NOW to build a prosperous and sustainable future for all. Global Citizen NOW is the only place where the brightest minds from the private sector, public sector, and artist community come together to share tangible ideas for taking action today, so that we can save tomorrow. 

As part of Global Citizen NOW, we will again award the Global Citizen Prize to those making extraordinary efforts to change the world. We will celebrate unsung heroes from across the globe who have been combating climate change, addressing systemic barriers, empowering girls and women, and championing change in all its forms.

What is Global Citizen NOW: Detroit?

Global Citizen NOW is the renowned summit driving action to address the world’s most urgent challenges. To foster immediate and critical impact for the generations to come on the future of the world’s cities, Global Citizen NOW is heading to Detroit, Michigan, for the first-ever US edition outside of New York City.

On July 10, Global Citizen NOW: Detroit will convene influential voices from the private sector, government, media, philanthropy, nonprofits, and culture at the new Hudson’s Detroit to drive discussion, collaboration, and action to create prosperous and sustainable cities for all citizens.

Global Citizen NOW: Detroit will use Detroit’s renaissance as a jumping-off point for tackling local and global challenges, defeating poverty, defending the planet, and identifying the biggest opportunities and obstacles facing cities in America and around the world. 

The summit will spark bold dialogue and inspire collective action on key urban challenges — from economic equity and talent development to climate resilience and community impact. The one-day Summit anchors three days of community events across the city, amplifying local impact and national relevance.

Attendees will experience transformative panel discussions, moving artist performances, and be the first to hear exciting announcements about future Global Citizen campaigns. It’s not only an opportunity to be in the room for the biggest moments in advocacy, but offers a chance to be an active part of the discussions needed to take action and shape scalable solutions in health-centered development and community-first innovation.
