Global Citizen Festival is back, returning to New York City’s Central Park’s Great Lawn, on Sept. 28, 2024. Whether you’ll be joining us on the ground, or tuning in to the live-stream, the 12th installment of the annual festival will be a feast for the senses, and a powerful call for definitive change.
We’ve already announced the electrifying lineup featuring Post Malone, Doja Cat, LISA, Jelly Roll, Rauw Alejandro, Benson Boone, and RAYE.
This year, some of the most influential figures from the entertainment industry, leading policymakers, and passionate activists will join us on stage as speakers. Their powerful voices, along with your action-taking efforts, will urge world leaders to take urgent action to end extreme poverty.
We’re happy to welcome Global Citizen Ambassador, Hugh Jackman, back to the stage to host the festival for the seventh time. UN Messenger of Peace, Dr. Jane Goodall (founder of the Jane Goodall Institute) and Chris Martin of Coldplay, who is also the Global Citizen Festival Curator, will also make special appearances as speakers.
But the list doesn’t stop there — also taking to the stage to call for global leaders to defeat poverty, defend the planet, and demand equity are these incredible talents:
Antoni Porowski, Bill Nye, Bridget Moynahan, Charlamagne Tha God, Danai Gurira, Eric Adjepong, Gavin Degraw, Jordan Fisher, Kal Penn, Liza Koshy, Dr. Mike Varshavski, Nomzamo Mbatha, Osi Umenyiora, Rachel Brosnahan, Rhett & Link, Sophia Bush, and Vladimir Duthiers.
Special guests like ALOK & The Future Is Ancestral, Anthony Ramos, Calvin Royal III, Drew Afualo, Gayle King, Josh Martinez, Minda Dentler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Tatyana McFadden, Troy Iwata, and Whoopi Goldberg will also join the lineup of speakers.
In addition, global leaders such as Ursula von der Leyen, President of European Commission; Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the UN; Helder Barbalho, Governor of the State of Pará, Brazil; and Sonia Guajajara, Minister of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil, will also grace the stage in the call for urgent change.
Notably, The Breakfast Club radio host Charlamagne Tha God, Chef Eric Adjepong, former American professional footballer Osi Umenyiora, singer-songwriter Gavin Degraw, and Youtube sensations Rhett & Link will be making their first appearances on the Global Citizen Festival stage.
The 2024 Global Citizen Festival aims to address the major issues perpetuating extreme poverty around the world. Global Citizens will come together to advocate for urgent action to change the status quo. This year’s goal is to work to defeat poverty by ensuring that every person has access to nutritious food, affordable healthcare, and quality education; defend the planet by calling for adequate climate adaptation and mitigation funding; and demand equity through calling for an increase and protection of foreign aid and financing options for emerging economies.
Get fired up with us for the event by taking action and helping to mobilize the movement. Now, more than ever, we must double-down on our insistence for urgent change.
