2025 Global Citizen Fellowship Program
Terms and Conditions
The Promoter is Global Poverty Project, Inc d/b/a Global Citizen of 740 Broadway, Suite 400, NY NY 10003, United States of America (“Promoter”).
By entering the Global Citizen Fellowship Program (the “Program”), entrants accept these Terms & Conditions of entry.
Application to this Program is open to individuals (“Applicants”) that fulfill any and all of the following requirements:
Ages 18-35 (by time of application)
African residents
Applicants without a tertiary qualification preferred
Applicants should be able to prove that they are active Global Citizens, either through the work they do in their communities or through Global Citizen’s website and/or app (Google Play Store OR App Store)
Applicants should be available full-time from 25th February 2025 till December 15th 2025
Should you be selected kindly note that you will be required to be available for training from 25th-28th February 2025. Details on training to follow.
Those from minority and underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply
To apply for the Program, Applicants must follow the instructions at http://www.globalcitizen.org/fellows. Applications must be submitted between 12PM SAST 14 February 2025 and 11:59PM SAST 21st February 2025
Applicants will be evaluated by Promoter on individual merit, based on their answers to the following questions:
What qualities do you identify with as an active citizen of the world?
If selected, what lasting change would you like to achieve through the program?
How would you contribute to developing cost-effective, sustainable energy solutions that are essential for driving the continent’s socio-economic development?
Promoter will select in its sole discretion up to 3-5 Applicants to participate in the Program (“Fellow(s)”).
Promoter will pay for the following for each Fellow:
- Resources to ensure the Fellows journey is a success, according to Promoter’s sole discretion.
- All trip-related meals and lodging expenses in Promoter’s sole discretion.
Promoter will not be liable for any expenses other than expressly outlined above, including, without limitation, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs. Itineraries are to be determined by Promoter in its absolute discretion.
Fellows will be selected by Promoter in Johannesburg and any other place on the continent Promoter will contact each Fellow by email and/or phone within five (5) business days of selection and will be announced on the Promoter website.
All Fellows grant Promoter the right to use said Fellow’s name, city, and other information as contained in the entry application for publicity and Program purposes, and to generally promote the charitable endeavors and mission of Promoter, without compensation.
Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Program except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
As a condition of accepting entry to the Program, each Fellow must sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by Promoter, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form.
Each applicant’s personal information ("PI") is collected to enable Promoter to administer and promote this Program and the Fellows. The PI of each Fellow may be provided to third parties who are assisting Promoter, including suppliers, deliverers and authorities that regulate the Program. Entrants who fail to provide all requested PI, may be determined by the Promoter, at its sole discretion, to be ineligible to partake in the Program. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with this promotion is further governed by Promoter’s Privacy Policy.
Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, corruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, applications. Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer networks and systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination of them, including any injury or damage to any Applicant’s or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Program.
All applications become the property of Promoter. As such, Promoter is the owner of all copyright and all other intellectual property in the applications, and to the extent Promoter is not considered the owner, each Applicant hereby transfers and assigns all right and title in and to the information contained in the entries to Promoter.
The Program will be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa and subject to the jurisdiction and venue of the courts residing in South Africa.
Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Program. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
If for any reason the Program is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this Program, Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Program.
Prior to Fellows being notified of such status by Promoter, Promoter may cancel, postpone, modify, or otherwise terminate the Program in Promoter’s sole discretion. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the Program and/or recommence it from the start on the same or different conditions at a later date.
