Around the world, climate disasters are hitting harder and more often — destroying homes, livelihoods, and lives. Yet the countries and communities most affected are those who did the least to cause this crisis. Meanwhile, the biggest polluters and the ultra-wealthy continue to profit without paying for the damage.
This June, world leaders will gather in Seville for the Fourth Financing for Development Summit (FFD4). It’s a crucial moment to push for bold solutions — like international taxes on the richest and most polluting industries. Just small levies on fossil fuel profits, financial trades, or private jets could raise hundreds of billions to support those hit hardest by climate change.
This is about fairness. Right now, climate-vulnerable countries are forced to take on debt to survive disasters they didn’t create. It’s time the world’s biggest winners contribute to fixing a crisis they’ve fueled. Fair levies would ensure polluters pay and frontline communities get the support they need.
At FFD4, governments must choose: protect polluters, or fund climate justice. Add your voice to demand real action — and help build a fairer, more sustainable future for all.
