As we celebrate International Women's Day and Women's Month, courageous women are being persecuted simply for raising their voices in many parts of the world.
This is the case of Pakhshan Azizi, Verisheh Moradi, and Sharifeh Mohammadi, three human rights defenders in Iran, who were imprisoned, tortured, and sentenced to death for standing up against oppression and for justice.
Pakhshan Azizi, a defender detained and tortured for fighting against political executions. Verisheh Moradi, a determined political activist who was brutally interrogated, held in solitary confinement for five months, and sentenced to death. And Sharifeh Mohammadi, a labor rights defender, who faces a second death sentence after an unjust judicial twist.
These women are among many who face repression for defending freedom and human rights. Stand up for these women and demand that Iran release these defenders, end repressive laws, and respect women's rights by fulfilling its international obligations.
The best way to honor women is to protect them and fight for their rights. Sign this petition and demand the release of these women NOW!
