Around 75% of people in the most vulnerable countries lack access to clean soap and water.
These are some of the most basic defences against infectious diseases like COVID-19. This COVID crisis is not going to end for anyone, until it ends for everyone — including for the poorest people in the most at-risk nations.
While parts of Australia can now breathe a small sigh of relief, too many of our neighbours around the world are ill-equipped to deal with a pandemic. And with no fences standing between any of us and COVID-19, it’s time we offered a helping hand.
Because we take care of our neighbours. It’s just what we do.
It’d be un-Australian not to.
That’s why we’re calling on the Australian Government to commit new funds and provide vital support to vulnerable nations. New funding will help strengthen health and frontline services, prevent secondary health impacts, support economic recovery and protect vulnerable groups.
Together, let’s pledge to stand in solidarity with all our neighbours. Educate yourself on the virus and join us in calling on the Australian Government to protect the most vulnerable from COVID-19. It’s the only way we can #EndCOVIDForAll.
