Malala Yousafzai, the incredible young woman who stood up to the Taliban to defend her right to an education, received top grades in her exam results today. She got 4 As and 6 A*s--the very top mark anyone can get in the UK.
This morning, her father Ziauddin Yousafzai posted a very proud tweet.
My wife Toor Pekai and I are proud of Malala getting 6A*s and 4As. #education for every child. pic.twitter.com/lfoKBLMGYz

When she was just 15, Malala was targeted by the Taliban in Pakistan for pursuing an education. In 2012, a gunman boarded her school bus and after demanding to know which girl was Malala, shot her in the head. The bullet also injured two other schoolgirls, Kainat Riaz and Shazia Ramzan.
But this did not kill or silence Malala. She was flown to the UK, and, after life-saving surgery, the Nobel prize winner is now one of the staunchest advocates for education in the world.
Adversity is something that all of us have to face at some point in our lives. But it’s precisely the hard times that build character, make us strong, ready to face our next challenge whatever that may be.
