Global Citizen is launching a first-of-its-kind international music touring circuit across the African continent: Move Afrika.
First stop? Rwanda.
First date? Dec. 6.
First headliner? Kendrick Lamar.
That’s right, we’re working with creative imprint, pgLang to bring to the world, Move Afrika: A Global Citizen Experience — a new long-term, large-scale effort to pioneer a first-of-its-kind international music touring circuit throughout the African continent over the next five years. The very first event, Move Afrika: Rwanda will be headlined by Grammy Award, Pulitzer prize winning artist, and co-founder of pgLang, Kendrick Lamar. Zuchu and Bruce Melodie are also set to light up the stage as performers at the show. Lamar’s creative imprint, pgLang will also serve as the curator of the Move Afrika events for the next five years.
“Our goal with Move Afrika is to inspire local youth and artists to unlock their creativity. We hope to curate an immersive experience that empowers various communities and cultures across Africa and around the world for a lifetime," said pgLang.
DJ TOXXYK, musician Ariel Wayz, media personality Jackie Lumbasi, comedian and media personality Arthur NkusI, and award winning choreographer Sherrie Silver will also be gracing the stage at the BK Arena in Kigali for Move Afrika: Rwanda.
We’re also thrilled to be working with the Rwanda Development Board to bring the vision to life over the next five years.

What Is Move Afrika: Rwanda?
Move Afrika: Rwanda is a music event taking place on Dec. 6 at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.
What Is Move Afrika Focusing On?
The inaugural event, Move Afrika: Rwanda, will focus on the need to strengthen health systems, with a specific emphasis on supporting community health workers; addressing the climate crisis, particularly its impact on food security, and securing support for smallholder farmers; and tackling the lack of access to economic opportunities for future generations.
Where Is It and When?
It’s all happening on Wednesday Dec. 6, 2023, at the iconic BK Arena in Kigali, in Rwanda. Doors open at 5 pm and the show starts at 7 pm.
How Can I Get Tickets to Move Afrika: Rwanda?
You can either purchase priority tickets, or enter to win tickets to Move Afrika: Rwanda by taking action on the Global Citizen app or the Global Citizen website. Go to this page for everything you need to know.

You can take actions such as signing petitions, participating in journeys in our app, sharing messages on social media, writing letters to politicians, taking action in your community, and much more. With every action you take, you’ll win points that you can redeem for entries for a chance to win tickets to Move Afrika: Rwanda.
There will be three separate draws for a chance to win tickets. Each entry into a ticket draw will cost a total of 20 points, and you can enter each draw multiple times. If you don’t win in the first draw — don’t worry, you can keep trying and enter each draw as many times as you like.
The three time periods you can enter the draws on our app or website are:
- Draw 1: Friday, Nov. 3 — Tuesday, Nov. 14
- Draw 2: Wednesday, Nov. 15 — Tuesday, Nov. 21
- Draw 3: Wednesday, Nov. 22 — Tuesday, Nov. 28

To get involved and take action with us on WhatsApp, follow these simple steps:

- Step 2: We will send you an action to take at the beginning of each week on WhatsApp and an update at the end of the week.
- Step 3: Respond to our message to take action, which again, will be sent at the beginning of every week. Don't worry, this will be very simple. We'll be asking you to share your opinion on certain issues either through images, messages or videos, or to add your name to petitions.
After you’ve taken one action on WhatsApp, you’ll be automatically entered into a draw to win tickets. You’ll get another entry for every further action you complete, so keep taking action to increase your chances. The draw on WhatsApp is open from Friday Nov. 3 until Tuesday Nov. 28. How and When Will I Find Out if I Won Tickets to Move Afrika: Rwanda?
The day after each ticket draw ends, we’ll notify winners via email. Winners will have 48 hours to claim their tickets on the Global Citizen app or website and on TiCQet’s website.
Website and App Winners Will be Notified On:

- Draw Two: Nov. 22, 2023
- Draw Three: Nov. 29, 2023
If you entered the draw on WhatsApp, you will be notified if you won this draw on Wednesday, Nov. 29 through a message. Please note: If at any point you opt out of WhatsApp prior to tickets being allocated, you are no longer entered into the draw.

I’m a Global Citizen, But I Can’t Redeem My Points for a Ticket to Move Afrika: Rwanda.
While everyone around the world can participate in taking action, only Global Citizens who live in Rwanda who are 18 or older can enter to win tickets to the show.
