Thursday night, as France settled into darkness and Bastille Day revelers finished watching fireworks in celebration of their country’s national holiday, at least one man drove a truck into a crowded promenade, plowing people down and then letting loose a torrent of bullets, killing at least 80 people in his wake.
The reports are still developing, but one thing is evident: people around the world — let’s call them global citizens — are showing their support and sorrow on social media.
