By now, you’ve heard all about Stand Up for Ukraine, a campaign that aims to raise billions of dollars in urgent humanitarian aid for Ukraine and for refugees everywhere.
On Friday, April 8, Global Citizen is supporting a global social media rally to drum up support ahead of the Stand Up for Ukraine pledging event on Saturday. It’s gearing up to be one of the largest digital rallies of all time — but we’ll need Global Citizens from every corner of the world if we want to make a difference.
So what can you do? Join the global social media rally on April 8 by creating and uploading a video asking world leaders to take action on the global refugee crisis.
The United Nations reports a $10 billion funding gap for refugee assistance worldwide. As the international community witnesses the atrocities committed during the war in Ukraine, we must use this moment to demand support for those forced to flee their homes around the world, regardless of their nationality, race, or place of origin.
Your voice has the potential to change the world, so let’s make sure everyone hears it. Making a video as part of the social media rally is the best way to show world leaders how many people are demanding they take action now.
Join us 👉 THIS FRIDAY 👈 for a global social media rally to #StandUpForUkraine with a collective call to fill the already *catastrophic* funding gap to aid refugees + victims of conflict and crisis across all continents.

How to Make a Video for Stand Up for Ukraine
1. Record your video.
Film yourself telling the world why you support aid for Ukraine and refugees everywhere, and urge governments, institutions, and corporations to step up.
Don’t forget to share where you’re from and call out your country’s leaders, so they know their citizens are watching whether they take action at the pledging event on April 9.
Don’t know where to start? Here are some examples to give you inspiration:
My name is [INSERT YOUR NAME], and I am calling on [INSERT YOUR WORLD LEADER'S NAME HERE] to Stand Up for Ukraine and commit to giving billions of dollars to refugees affected by the crisis and all around the world. Millions of people are now without food and shelter, and they need your help. I am using my voice to Stand Up For Ukraine — now I need you to do the same and pledge the funds urgently needed.
OR
My name is [INSERT YOUR NAME], and I stand with Ukraine and refugees all around the world. The crisis in Ukraine is happening at a time when aid organizations are already struggling and underfunded. Refugees deserve to be safe, and they deserve to be treated with dignity. Join me and let’s call for global support to fund this global humanitarian crisis.
2. Upload the video to your social channels using #StandUpForUkraine.
After you’ve recorded your video, upload it to your social channels. You’ll want as many people as possible to know that humanitarian aid is essential for the 82.4 million people forcibly displaced around the world, so be sure to include the hashtag #StandUpForUkraine with your video.
We’ll also highlight some of the videos created by Global Citizens on our channels, so keep an eye on @GlblCtzn on Instagram and Twitter on April 8 to see if yours is featured!
3. Watch and share videos from other Global Citizens.
Make sure to follow the hashtag #StandUpForUkraine to watch videos from others calling for humanitarian aid just like you, along with activists and advocates across the globe. You can also amplify advocates’ powerful videos to spread the word that Global Citizens everywhere want world leaders to act.
You can also join the dozens of artists, actors, athletes, entertainers, and influencers who are taking part in the social media rally on April 8.
We’ll raise our voices together so that world leaders and corporations will feel the pressure to step up their financial commitments at the pledging event on April 9.
