Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau blew up in the media (and global consciousness) as an advocate for gender equality when he appointed a gender equal cabinet. He furthered his claim for the title for the best Girls and Women advocate when he casually shrugged at a reporter’s question on why he made said decision to have a gender equal cabinet, and simply said “Because it’s 2015.”
Since then, he has not stopped advocating for the right of girls and women everywhere.
He champions gender equality in politics, and women of indigenous communities. Trudeau also acknowledges the obstacles women face in gaining equality in all walks of life and takes action to create positive change. He began an investigation into the epidemic of violence against indigenous women, making it a top priority in Canada.
He’s all for equal pay! And he’s proud to be a feminist!
I am a feminist. I’m proud to be a feminist. #upfordebate
