Global Broadcast and Digital Event Achieves Record Titles for Impressive Number of Musical Acts and Funds Raised to Aid COVID-19 Relief Efforts

New York, NY – May 27, 2020 – GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS, the global authority on record-breaking achievement announces the global broadcast and digital special, One World: Together at Home, co-hosted by the World Health Organization and Global Citizen with curation from Lady Gaga on April 18, 2020, made history by setting the record titles for most musical acts to perform at a remote music festival and most money raised for charity by a remote music festival.
During the eight hour event to honor, inspire, and support frontline healthcare workers and bring families together, 72 artists performed or spoke from across the globe including record-holders such as Elton John, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, and Sam Smith.
Additional appearances from other artists, philanthropists, and dignitaries, included Lang Lang, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, David & Victoria Beckham, Maluma, Oprah Winfrey to WHO Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Former United States First Ladies, Mrs. Laura Bush and Mrs. Michelle Obama, and United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres.
Their efforts resulted in $127,900,000 USD in commitments from corporate partners and philanthropists to support efforts by the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization, powered by the UN Foundation, as well as regional foundations.
