What is Global Citizen?

Global Citizen is the world's largest movement of action takers and impact makers dedicated to ending extreme poverty NOW. The voices of millions of Global Citizens around the world are driving lasting change towards sustainability, equality, and humanity by taking action every day.

We post, tweet, message, vote, sign, and call to inspire those who can make things happen to act — government leaders, businesses, philanthropists, artists, and citizens — together improving lives.

By downloading our app, Global Citizens learn about the systemic causes of extreme poverty, take action on those issues, and earn rewards with tickets to events, products, subscriptions, and more.

Global Citizens have taken over 33.5 million actions since 2009. Today, these actions, in combination with high-level advocacy work, have led to over $43.6 billion being distributed to our partners around the world, impacting 1.29 billion lives in the fight to end extreme poverty.

What is the Power Our Planet campaign?

The world’s most vulnerable countries and people contribute the least to climate change, and yet are impacted the most by it. To address this, Global Citizen is launching Power Our Planet - a year-long campaign to give vulnerable countries a better financial foundation and access to financing solutions to invest in the transition to clean energy and withstanding natural disasters.

Together with Global Citizens and global artists, we are calling on world leaders, multilateral development banks, philanthropists, and private sector leaders to reimagine our financial systems to meet the moment, defend the planet, and make sure that no matter where you live, everyone is protected from the worst impacts of climate change and inequality.

We are calling on these leaders to make ambitious commitments to unlock critical funding, invest in the green transition to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees, and increase support for the poorest countries to address health inequity, education, and the fight against poverty.

We are bringing the Power Our Planet rallying call to key moments throughout the year including the G7 summit in May, the New Financing Pact Summit in Paris in June, the G20 and UNGA in September, and COP28 in November.

What is Power Our Planet: Live in Paris?

Power Our Planet: Live in Paris is a free, ticketed event taking place on June 22 on the Champ de Mars, starting at 5 p.m. CEST.

It will feature performances from global superstars Lenny Kravitz, Billie Eilish, H.E.R., Jon Batiste, and special guests FINNEAS and Mosimann, to drive commitments from world leaders and the private sector to confront the climate crisis head on.

Under the high patronage of Mr Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, Power Our Planet: Live in Paris will rally global leaders attending the New Financial Pact Summit, chaired by President Macron.

Through the voices and actions of Global Citizens, activists, artists, and more, the event will call for a seismic shift in the way the world’s financial systems work to give the world’s poor and developing nations access to the financing they urgently need to quicken their transition to clean energy, strengthen their resilience against natural disasters, and address their most urgent needs.
